MindLab was founded by David Kavanagh.
David is a registered systemic psychotherapist with over fifteen year’s experience. He is also an entrepreneur with a number of successful online businesses.
He trained and managed a team of psychotherapists who delivered relationship coaching around Ireland under the Avalon brand since 2007 becoming the largest private provider of marriage courses in Ireland. He has online businesses in the United States of America and has built eight different brands since 2007.
In 2013, David developed an online mindfulness course in conjunction with a number of experts in the field. This has been used widely across Ireland by hundreds of participants who have experienced the benefits of mindfulness for themselves thanks to the ‘Inspired Living’ online course.
When David’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, he set about creating a smoking cessation program. He spent three years researching how nicotine addiction affects the brain, and researched the most successful methods of quitting smoking. ‘Aspire’ is the result of three years of hard work and David is delighted to be able to offer ‘Aspire’ to the employees of Mindlab’s clients.
He is the author of the bestselling book, ‘Love Rewired: Using Your Brain to mend your Heart’ and a number of years ago he was the psychological expert on the BBC TV show ‘You’re Not the Man I Married’.
David is a sought after guest on Newstalk, RTE One, Spin Fm and 4 FM and his ideas and comments are reported on a monthly basis in our national papers. He has been regularly quoted by journalists both here and in Britain and even as far away as India. He has appeared frequently on Irish TV including appearances on the Ryan Tubridy, the Afternoon Show and TV3’s Ireland A.M.
